Famous Fives

FICTION and REALITY

The famous Kirrin Island (île de Kernach, in the French series), and its no lesser famous castle are the works of the spirit. But Enid Blyton got inspiration from the places she was familiar with, such were the places where she enjoyed living.
It is now our turn to let our imagination go wild, and to think of the Famous five…
This page is just for fun, you can also check out some cool pictures that evoke the adventures of the Famous five…

It was a beautiful summer. For the first time, Julian, Dick, and Anne were discovering Kirrin island, along with their cousin sister George, and her pet-dog, Timothy.

It is said that Enid Blyton might have been inspired for her Kirrin castle from the Corfe castle, the old Normandic fortress situated to the Dorset.

Its is so much fun looking at the illustration of Simone Baudoin, for the French version of the 'Five on Kirrin island again', and seeing how well the Corfe castle blends perfectly well with the décor.
That's probably how Enid Blyton used to, closing her eyes, and running her 'inner movie' that Enid Blyton dreamed about the books before writing them…
